Weekly Scarf-Tying: Twist & Tie
A simple scarf styling technique that adds elegance and personality to any outfit, for scarf lovers who enjoy adding a creative finishing touch to their everyday style.
In just a few simple steps, you'll transform a colorful silk scarf into an elegant floral-inspired accent that can elevate your outfit and showcase your personal style.
Steps
Fold and Drape the Scarf
Action: Double the scarf over lengthwise and drape it around your neck.
Result: The doubled scarf should sit with the open end slightly lower.
Cross and Cinch the Ends
Action: Cross the two loose ends over one another and pull them together snugly. Result: The scarf begins to take shape and sits neatly around your neck.
Feed One End Through the Loop
Action: Take one loose end and feed it through the loop formed on the opposite side of the scarf.
Result: The scarf gains structure and creates the foundation for the decorative knot.
Bring the Ends Together and Cinch Again
Action: Bring both loose ends back together and cinch them once more.
Result: A second securing point is created near your neck.
Create the Twist
Action: Twist the two loose ends together 6 to 10 times, depending on your scarf's length.
Result: The ends form a rope-like twist that will become the center of the flower shape.
Note: Longer scarves may require additional twists for a fuller effect.
Loop the Twist Through the Second Cinch
Action: Take the twisted rope and loop it upward through the second cinch you created, pulling it through about halfway.
Result: The twisted section stays secured while leaving the ends available for shaping.
Shape the Flower
Action: Spread the exposed loose ends outward.
Result: The scarf forms a soft, flower-like design that becomes the focal point of your look.
A silk scarf is one of the easiest accessories to carry with you, and this knot adds a beautiful touch wherever you go.
